Recharge The AC Freon In Your Car Or Truck

IRC/Import Repair Center

Your truck or car's AC system is almost completely airtight, but your freon refrigerant is always slowly leaking out. Eventually, a car will lose enough freon so that its air conditioning system will no longer cool effectively. At IRC/Import Repair Center at 1825 Fulton Ave #F we are ready to recharge your AC to help you keep your car or truck's cabin temperature cool.

"Help My AC Only Blows Warm Air!"

New advancements in R134a freon systems means that freon in newer cars doesn't leak out as much as old R12 freon systems. The average new model economy car only leaks about 0.41 ounces of refrigerant per year. Come to IRC/Import Repair Center in Sacramento when it's time to recharge your AC freon.

IRC/Import Repair Center's Fast 3 Step Process:
  • Vacuum out all the old refrigerant before refilling it.
  • Add new R134a refrigerant.
  • Pressurize your car's AC system and test for mico-leaks.
"Does IRC/Import Repair Center Have R12 Freon For My Classic Car?"

Unfortunately R12 freon is no longer available. If your car or truck was made before 1994 you must convert your entire AC system to the new R134a standard. This involves replacing dozens of seals and several AC auto parts. R134a is a more highly pressurized and much more efficient refrigerant pound for pound than R12. Most classic car AC compressors and condensers cannot withstand the intense pressure required and choose to add about 25% less freon to accommodate older systems. This means your AC may not cool as well as it used to. Converting your R12 system to R134a is a big job so stop by IRC/Import Repair Center today and talk with our mechanics about getting the job done right. Visit us today at 1825 Fulton Ave #F.

"Is Used Freon Ok?"

Many auto repair shops resell used AC refrigerant. The old freon is cleaned using a specialized recovery machine that removes contaminants. Used freon provided by IRC/Import Repair Center works just as well as new freon after it's cleaned. Accepting used freon is a great way to help minimize the impact freon has on the environment.

Freon gas becomes a liquid when pressurized inside your car's A/C system but returns to its gaseous state as it leaks out. Many drivers in Sacramento are completely unaware that they are losing freon until the day when they turn on the car's AC and find only warm air blows out. Call 916-487-7801 and ask any of our auto repair specialists about recharging your car's AC. Stop by our store at 1825 Fulton Ave #F and we will show you the best AC recharging options for your car.

I couldn't ask for better people nor a better mechanic repair place. They are Epic all the way around.I was 400 plus miles and they still found time to answer my questions and refer me to the right people.

This is absolutely the best auto service in Sacramento. I have been going there for 40 years, and have never been disappointed. I have referred all my family and friends, and they are as happy as I am.

I was referred to IRC when I had an issue with my exhaust. From the moment I walked in I felt like I was in very good hands. Everyone was welcoming and Jim was very friendly and helpful. He showed me the problem and not only fixed it but improved the design. The cost was extremely reasonable by far and the repair did not take long at all. I will definitely recommend this shop to all I know!

My dear Laurie and Jim,
I was driving around, doing my errands and noticing that just as Jim had said, there was considerably less noise when I was stopped because you'd already done some repair work, when I realized you hadn't charged me anything for that work! I think I'm getting so used to you taking such wonderful care of me that it somehow didn't register, and I don't know if I even said thank you. THANK YOU
Please consider adding the cost of the work you did today to the charges when I come in next week. I so appreciate your many kindnesses, but I also do not want you generous people to short yourselves. Of course I keep an eye on expenses, and I certainly appreciate it when you give me a bargain, but I also have a regular paycheck coming in now, and I very much want our transactions to be win-wins. Totally aside from the pleasure of your friendship, it's wonderful to be an IRC customer and know that I will be charged a fair price (when you remember to charge me at all), by a business that stands behind their work. I eventually found mechanics with similar ethics in Connecticut, but before I did, I dealt with two car repair businesses that were somewhat less than trustworthy. I'm ignorant about cars, so it took me a while to discover they were charging me high prices for poor work. I never take IRC for granted. Mom and my sisters and I have always been grateful for Jim Sr. and his wonderful staff, and now you two take such good care of me! I feel very blessed to be an IRC customer. Then, on top of all that, there is the delightful bonus that we've become friends. I'm so glad you're both in my life; I feel happy every time I come in to see you.
With great appreciation,
